National Mandatory Appraisal Reporting Updates

Description

New national (and mandatory!) appraisal updates are coming November 2nd. These new requirements apply to most residential mortgage transactions, and they are mandatory. The changes affect what the appraiser collects at the property, how the home and site are described, and how condition and quality are reported. Agents are already seeing it in longer appointments, in report that look different, and in questions that appraisers didn't used to ask. 

Agents have a role in how smoothly this goes. Accurate listing detail, complete information on updates and improvements, and a heads-up on anything unusual at the property all help to keep the appraisal moving. This one-hour session covers what is changing, when it takes effect, and what agents can do on their own listing to keep transactions on track. Time will be reserved for questions.
