Description

The first half of this course will introduce the Washington County Department of Planning & Zoning and its policies, procedures, and programs regarding historic resources in the County. Topics covered will include the Historic District Commission, Zoning, Rural Villages, Demolition, Tax Credit basics and more. For the second half of the course, you’ll learn about Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data available in the County. This portion will dive into where to find information on zoning, protected lands, approved/in process developments, and karst topography. The instructor will also go into detail on the different tools available in online mapping which allow users to measure, draw, find, share and so much more.
